[Charlug] subdomain help/explanation

You're talking two totally different things here.  Firstly a DNS server
somewhere must be setup to handle the subdomain.  You can either setup a
complete sub-domain on a DNS server somewhere, or just put it into your zone
files with the . in it.

Then, once that's setup, you setup the record in DNS to point to the IP you
want it to show up on.  Past that you might need some sort of virtual
hosting setup......

I probably confused you more but it's not a simple answer....
