> Hi Mike! What's your favorite ale to chug?
I'm a little older and wiser to "chug",
but lately have been sipping Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
while catching up on e-mail. I have learned
to NOT reply to flame baiting e-mails after two beers. :)
That being said, regarding other flavors, I like
Gin and Tonic.. Any gin. But I get pickier about other things in my life:
I still use Pine for most of my e-mail, on my mail server, even for a
gmail account I'm forced to use by a client. :) Evolutions works for me
for my 'business' e-mail with lots of attachments and clueless OutLook
users on the other end.
vi vs emacs? I'd rather use "joe". Mostly because I have been using
wordstar keybindings since the dark ages. I'll even install Cygwin on a
Windows system mostly for the bash shell and joe. It's UTF-8 and Binary
Safe. Useful when you pull up files with traditional chinese in them.
Distro: Ubuntu. I've got servers running 6.06 through 8.04 and it works
well for most of what I do. I've also run a lot of RedHat and Centos, and
in my earlier days, yes, I was a slacker.. spicing up my recipies includes
some Slowlaris, Interactive Unix, Concurrent Dos, Z80 "oZ".. a little
MacOS and M$-stuff.
Languages: PHP. Lousy Language, Fantastic Tool. PERL, Lovely language for
parsing data, doing odd things. "JavaScript"/EcmaScript, Lousy bad
language, only tool available for many many things. C when I absolutely
have to, I suck at it.
Databases: MySQL for webish stuff also do PostgreSQL and Sybase as well.
Mostly MySQL for things lately.
So, what kinds of ale are ya'll chugging? --Mike--
