Interesting trick, thanks!

It seems that it has to be compiled into the kernel - CONFIG_MAGIC_SYSRQ
option, I don't know if all distros do that or not.

Also, "the source of all wisdom and knowledge" - wikipedia :P - has a
broader explanation of all the *magic SysRq* options.
