[Charlug] Weird VMWare Performance

hmmm....would you really think that the disparity in
performance is REALLY that different?=A0 Hardware is a dual-core AMD
4200+

Moved to 32bit OS since on my host/base Workstation, it
appears that the 64-bit FireFox plugin's aren't coming as quickly as I
believed that would....but that's another story...grin

Ahhh...good idea...when I ran, I received the message, "Cannot
upgrade virtual machine:=A0 The virtual machine's hardware is
up-to-date and does not need to be upgraded"

darn - was

ok.......gave that a shot
(moving all files except .vmx & .vmdk) to a backup directory.....which
for me as the following:

nvram
vmware*.log
Windows
2000 Pro.vmsd
Windows 2000 Pro.vmsd~
Windows 2000 Pro.vmx~

Started the machine and WOW....I can't believe it...quick boot
times have returned!=A0 and quick file transfers have returned (at
least one way - usually I move large files OUT of the VMWare ...would take
50+ minutes....when moving one back in - because I don't currently have
one to move out - took the normal 8 minutes)....GREAT!

Now for
the truly Geeky to determine the issues?...grin
