Allowing posts to the list from non-list-members is certainly a terrible 
idea... However, I believe what Don was suggesting was to have the 
"subscribe to mailing list" link available to folks who just happen to 
drop by the site. They may not want to register a login for the CharLUG 
website, but might like to participate in mailing list discussions.
