[Charlug] Today's Meeting

We frequently overlook the simple stuff - things that many newbies really
find helpful. Although we didn't have an official topic, we have a Windows
guy in our midst who attended today, and wanted to see KDE, since he uses
GNOME. I gave a general tour of KDE, using my Debian Etch system. That
literally took up the whole meeting, and I think was fairly interesting for
everyone. Everyone got a peek at my wifi encryption key while we atttempted
to tinker with my WiFi setup. I hope you all memorized it! ;-)
I also learned that playing video doesn't show up on the remote screen when
the laptop is connected to a projector. Does anyone know how I can fix
that? The video (an avi file) played fine on my laptop, but never showed up
on the projector screen.
As for next month, do we have anyone that can give an overview of the
various IDEs used in FOSS development? I know there's Eclipse and
KDevelop. I don't know much about either, and certainly don't know what
IDEs are most popular or what to do with them. Anyone willing to cover this
topic next month?
Also, the 4th of July is in the middle of the week. Should we consider
moving our July meeting to the 2nd weekend, or is everyone o.k. with meeting
on the 7th?
