If you're not using Skype, the Linksys/Sipura SPA1001 is my favorite. 
It's rather cheap, compact, and rock-solid. I'm using it to connect some 
analog sets into my Asterisk system @ work. It will connect to any 
service that lets you use SIP, which is one of the major two VoIP 
protocols in use.
