Hello,
I'm Joe, the acting Webmaster and Librarian. I've been involved in
CharLUG since late 2005. I am semi-retired after spending 39 years in
the air cargo/airline industries. I started in computing in the late
'70's/early '80's with a Radio Shack Color Computer (Motorola 6809E CPU)
learning Basic, and later, OS-9 programming. I led the Dayton (Ohio)
Area Color Computer User Group (DACCUG) for several years.
I"ve used Red Hat, Mandrake, Suse and now Ubuntu flavors of Linux. I've
some experience in website design and implementation, but would
basically classify myself as a hobbiest.
My desire is to see the LUG grow and attract more new users. I agree
with Don that interesting speakers, presentations, classes and
Installfests are the key to gaining more participation... and firmly
believe that without member participation the LUG will lag.
Hope to meet all of you at a Saturday or Tuesday meeting in the near future.
Cheers,
Joe Josey
