I haven't setup my own DNS server yet, as I thought that could create some
kind of conflict with the outside world. My understanding of postfix is
that, given 2 domains (in one of the main.cnf lines), they will both be
considered equal unless you configure virtual domains. I can do the latter,
which might allow me to use the "outside" domain name as my e-mail address.
I basically want my e-mail to share the webserver's domain name. You can
visit matheteuo.org, and send mail to matheteuo.org. Something tells me I'm
making this more confusing than it needs to be, which is one reason I'm not
a professional Linux admin. ;-)
I may just follow that Debian howto I saw for the mail gateway server - it
takes you through installing Debian to postfix, sasl, etc., and is geared
toward my specific question - as opposed to this book, which is more general
in nature.
