[Charlug] Saturday Meeting Summary

Well, Saturday turned out to be an interesting experience. I had thought
that we were setup to meet the first Saturday of every month at CPCC.
Neither Hal nor any of the CPCC folks showed up and we couldn't get into the
classroom to meet. Security won't open the door if there's a computer in
the room. I contacted Hal, who informed me that he should have been there,
but wound up busy with other things. He has assured me that it won't happen
again.

It turns out that only 3 people showed up anyway, so we sat out in the 2nd
floor lobby and watched the Revolution OS movie. I got a picture of Joe and
Kevin. Joe is has put up a photo gallery on the site so we can post LUG
photos. So our website is progressing nicely.

We have Philip Dodds, an Apache contributor coming to discuss Enterprise
Open Source Adoption in February. I would like us to start having actual
classes every other month at CPCC. We'll start in March, and will try to
get setup for setting up a thin client setup (maybe LTSP?). Kevin, let me
know if LTSP is what you were wanting to see.

Also, I'm working on getting Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols and Nick Petreley to
come down to Charlotte and speak at some point. SJVN is an editor for eWeek
and runs ZD's Linux stuff. Most of you should know that Nick is Chief
editor of Linux Journal.

Please drop me a line with any questions or suggestions!
