[Charlug] January Meeting

We do have our January meeting coming up on Saturday, the 5th. I figure the
1st being on Tuesday, most of us should have enough time to recover from our
New Years hangovers. We need people to help us out in a couple of ways:

(1) We really need some nominations for officers and people willing to
become officers.
(2) We also really need people to actually turn out and vote.

The alternative is you can be stuck with the current regime for another
year. Maybe you like the current regime, and that's fine. But if you think
there need to be some changes, then by all means, run for office. :-)

As for our topic, I thought I would ride on the coattails of Carla
Schroder's new book, 'The Linux Networking Cookbook', and talk a little
about OpenLDAP. This discussion will be aimed at getting up and running
with OpenLDAP at a basic level.

I will cover:
Installing (with some notes on the differences between Debian & Fedora)
Organizing the Structure
Creating and Modifying Records
Using the Database
Basic Access Control

Usual, I'll warn you in advance that I am no expert, but this is a good way
to get started if you have an interest in LDAP. You experts are welcome to
attend and share your own experiences.

Cheers,
Don
