Hi all,
I will be speaking at Ohio LinuxFest on Sep 29th. I saw on the OLF
community map that someone from Matthews is registered. If you're paying
attention, maybe we can ride together or something. If you want to share
hotel room, I need to know ASAP. I currently plan to drive up Friday and
return Sunday, though I might wind up driving back Saturday evening. If
you're interested in going, and haven't registered, you should buy an
all-conference pass ($65), since you get lunch and other goodies.
My presentation is titled "Promoting Your Project: Beyond Word of Mouth",
and will focus on the idea that many projects need to take advantage of some
basic PR methods to generate publicity for themselves. It can be done
legitimately, without the mistrusted "marketspeak", and often at no or
minimal cost. I will refer to some case studies, etc. as part of the
discussion.
Cheers,
Don
