Don,
if you have a dynamic IP address, and don't want to pay extra just for a
business class package with your ISP just to be able to access home network,
then you may want to use no-ip or dyndns for your home network most package
managing utilities (apt,yum,portage,etc...) already have a client packages
that you just need to search and install it after signing up for a free
account at their site. Since you have a WRT54G
dyndns can be automatically updated through a setting in your router. By
using my dyndns domain (e.g. mydomain.dyndns.org) for my actual internal
home network domain name where hosts would be named
myhost.mydomain.dyndns.org saves a lot of headaches when configuring my home
webserver and other network related applications. Just a suggestion.
[1] no-ip: http://www.no-ip.com
[2] DynDNS http://www.dyndns.org

-Kevin
